Sacred Heart School of Theology - SCJ Novitiate Residence
The Sacred Heart School of Theology purchased a home near the town of Raymond to house it's Novitiate Priests. Jens was charged to renovate this former 3 bedroom residence into a 6 Bedroom multi-tenant housing unit. The project consisted of interior renovations of the house and the addition of a chapel under the roof of an existing carport on the structure. Renovating the existing ICF constructed walls and running a new in floor heat system in the chapel from the existing mechanical room were several of the challenges overcome during the course of this project.
Sacred Heart School of Theology - Main Lobby Remodel
Renovation of the main building lobby on the second level, which is the main level of the facility. The existing lobby interior was demolished and updated with new finishes and windows. In addition, a new ADA accessible restroom facility in an existing storage room and phone booth was created. The new finishes included a new extended skylight, wood paneling and trim, wood doors, stone veneer, gas fireplace, glass railing, new reception desk, ceramic tile, carpet, and paint.
Jens coordinated with the owner’s staff to maintain operations (including chapel services) and to minimize any noise and/or disruptions. The project was also completed significantly under budget through contractor proposed value engineering, proper management of the project, and a team effort by all members of project (Jens, Dimension IV, and the owner).
Immanuel Presbyterian Church
This project entailed the complete renovation of a historic church located on Milwaukee’s lower east side. A new chapel was constructed on the second floor that incorporated a rose shaped stained glass window that had been “lost” in the attic for many years. In addition, a columbarium with wall niches for cremated ashes was constructed in the lower level, and a three-story elevator, new public toilet rooms, and modifications to the vestibule were completed to bring the church into compliance with American with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations.
